” Cari e care,
al Naser and al Rantisi hospital sono stati chiusi da oggi per mancanza di gasolio per i generatori.
Sono i due ospedali pediatrici di Gaza. Il primo per tutti i pazienti, il secondo per i casi specialistici (tra cui la dialisi).
Il Nasser ha anche una unità di cura intensiva perinatale.
Buona parte della striscia di Gaza affluisce alla pediatria del Naser e Rantissi, e centinaia di pazienti sono ricoverati, tra cui una ventina in cura intensiva neonatale, altre centinaia sono visti nel day hospital ogni giorno.
Sabato aveva già chiuso l’ospedale di Beith Hannoun
In lista per la chiusura domani o martedì sono Ophthalmology, Psychiatry e l’ospedale Abu Yusif Al Najjar; queste sono le notizie che ci giungono dal ministero della salute.
A Gaza ci sono 13 Ospedali governativi e sono tutti nelle stesse condizioni per mancanza di carburante.
Le autorità hanno previsto un piano di chiusure successive per limitare i danni e poter spostare i pazienti, per quanto sia possibile; ma sembra che si potrebbe arrivare al blocco di tutti gli ospedali già in questa settimana.
Come attivisti, come persone di coscienza solidali con Gaza, quello che possiamo fare è portare questi fatti in tempo reale all’attenzione pubblica e sollecitare politici, associazioni e reti in Italia, ma anche all’estero, affinché informino nella speranza che la pressione mediatica spinga Israele a rivedere le proprie scelte.
La crisi energetica infatti ha le sue radici nella mancanza del rispetto delle regole internazionali secondo le quali lo stato occupante dovrebbe provvedere alle esigenze fondamentali della popolazione, mentre ormai sembra normale non solo che Israele abbia appaltato la sopravvivenza dei Gazawi (altrimenti resa impossibile dal blocco) alle organizzazioni sovranazionali, ma che ostacoli gli stesi interventi umanitari realizzati dalla diplomazia internazionale.
Israele ha una sua strategia, in atto da 12 anni, che si realizza attraverso il controllo delle frontiere per beni e persone,con l’obiettivo di strangolare e tenere in emergenza continua la popolazione e i servizi essenziali, come forma di punizione collettiva, come strumento per stringere sempre più la corda al collo dei Gazawi tutti; minaccia questa sempre presente e soprattutto realizzabile in qualsiasi momento con grande facilità, come sta avvenendo ora.
Per quanto riguarda il gasolio, la storia è lunga; mi limito a riassumere gli ultimi eventi.
Una donazione del Qatar in novembre avrebbe garantito 6 mesi di gasolio e di salari per gli impiegati pubblici (quindi anche per tutti i medici,gli infermieri etc) ma Israele adesso, dopo 2 mesi, ha bloccato sia i fondi che il gasolio. “Semplicemente” non sono arrivati da 3 settimane e per il gasolio questo significa che le minime scorte che c’erano si sono esaurite.
Tutto ciò nonostante che questo permesso, per i 6 mesi di aiuti umanitari, fosse stato concordato anche con la mediazione dell ‘Egitto, all’interno di un accordo ufficiale con il governo di Gaza.
Ancora una volta, un’ elezione in Israele si trasforma in una contesa tra chi vuole strangolare i Palestinesi prima e chi dopo… Lieberman e Natanyahu , chi più violentemente e chi zitto zitto. Questa crisi, anche se si risolvesse avrà fatto altre vittime giorno dopo giorno per mancanza di assistenza . E naturalmente trai più fragili, i bambini, i malati cronici, gli .anziani….
Chi può informare e diffondere lo faccia subito e ad ampio raggio

MOH in Gaza appeals to all concerned parties to intervene immediately to end the fuel crisis hitting the governmental hospitals in Gaza Strip as the generators of the Emirati Maternity hospital in Rafah will stop within hours, this crises will expand to involve the entire health facilities within days.
The Palestinian Health Ministry warns from an alarming crisis that hits the healthcare system in the besieged Gaza Strip due to the shortage of fuel supplies which provide power for hospitals.
The fuel crisis which hit the Emirates Crescent Hospital and health facilities began after the end of November 2018
with the depletion of the remaining fuel quantities due to power outages and increased electricity loads due to the cold winter.
We have not been supplied by any quantities of fuel from the donors, we reached a state of severe shortage and we are counting down to stop many hospitals’ generators in the coming hours, which will lead to stopping the health service of additional hospitals and health facilities and therefore we appeal to all the concerned parties to provide our hospitals with fuel to ensure the continuity of health services for thousands of patients in Gaza strip.
The monthly consumption of fuel is 300,000 liters per month.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the middle zone of Gaza Strip transferred 2500 liters of fuel from its own tanks to save the UAE Crescent Maternity Hospital in Rafah city, which is about to halt operation because of fuel shortage , noting that the transferred amount will be enough for two days in the maternity hospital and the remaining fuel in Al-Aqsa hospital will be finished in 5 days only
Continuing crisis of fuel depletion in health facilities will have catastrophic consequences for patients in the Gaza Strip when the generators stop within a few days.
☜ It will threaten the lives of 800 patients with renal failure who attend for 128 dialysis machines 3 times a week, including 30 children.
☜ 40 operation rooms will be interrupted in which 250 operations are being operated per day.
☜ The lives of hundreds of pregnant women who require caesarean sections will be threatened when the operation rooms in the delivery sections stop
☜ The health situation of thousands of patients who require laboratory tests and blood units will be exacerbated every day when 50 medical laboratories and 10 blood banks are suspended at Ministry of Health facilities
☜ The lives of 120 new born premature babies will be threatened as their lives are directly dependent on electricity supply to the nurseries in the Gaza Strip hospitals
☜ The lives of 100 patients in the intensive care units will be threatened as their lives are linked to the continuous electricity that run life saving medical devices.
☜ Halting the oxygen concentrators, sterilization units, laundries and other supportive services in Gaza Strip hospitals.
☜ The health situation of thousands of patients will be at risk as they will be deprived of diagnostic services in the radiology departments of the Gaza Strip hospitals .
• Dozens of patients every day will be denied of therapeutic and diagnostic cardiac catheterization services
